CUSTOMS ADMINISTRATION MARKED ITS 15th YEAR CUSTOMS DAY AND 1st STUDENTS-ALUMNI GET-TOGETHER



More than proud that the College of Customs Administration of the Lyceum of Iligan Foundation have reached 15 years since its opening to the public in SY1997-1998, “crystal” anniversary with “Student and Alumni Get-Together” as highlight was steered during its recognized Customs Day on February 16-17, 2013 with the theme “Lycean Customs – Gearing towards Competitiveness through Connectivity and Innovation”.

This year’s celebration of customs


day is different from the previous years because alumni were involved to the various activities on its entire two days events. First day had showcases academic competition such as quiz bowl, essay writing, extemporaneous speech, and logo making which was participated in by customs students and a sportsfest played between students and alumni. Second day was another sport activities and the highlight “Students and Alumni Social Night Get-Together” held at the Maria Cristina Hotel with Hon. Jamel Tabao Mamutuk, Presiding Judge of Branch 4 Municipal Trial Circuit of Iligan City as Guest Speaker who had emphasized on connectivity and innovation as a tools for becoming competitive.

Dean Abdullah R. Sirad noted in his opening remarks that ever since the Customs Administration’s birth at LIF till quite recent time, the college of customs administration managed to withstand many ups and downs, persevered and survived from the challenges of the times. Number of BOARD PASSERS made the college a survivor! Presently, only the Lyceum of Iligan Foundation offered a degree in Customs Administration in the Southern part of Mindanao.
 
Alumni batch representatives have also delivered their messages and shared the whereabouts of their batchmates. The alumni, through their elected set of officers, anvil their plans of setting a regular homecoming every five years and pledged to assist the college of customs administration.  

Meanwhile, Prof. Ray Vincent E. Arana, Director for Academic Affairs shared a message on behalf of the Administration.  The celebration also served as the department’s Recognition in which winners for various events were awarded and students who excel in both curricular and non-curricular during the current school year were recognized.
